Jennifer Amankwaa Sarpong has described Ghana’s inclusion in FIFA’s Women’s Commercial Strategy Programme as a transformative moment for the domestic women’s game, stressing its potential to deliver long-term financial stability.

The Head of Women’s Football Development at the Ghana Football Association said the initiative represents a major breakthrough in ongoing efforts to professionalise and commercialise the women’s league structure in Ghana.

“We are grateful and acknowledge the impact of FIFA’s support. This world-class intervention will ensure long-term financial viability, adding greater value to the clubs, the league, and women’s football in Ghana,” she said.

Her remarks follow Ghana’s selection as the only African representative among 12 Member Associations chosen globally for the programme, which is designed to help federations build sustainable commercial models for women’s football.

Sarpong noted that the technical and marketing support embedded in the programme will significantly enhance the commercial appeal of the Ghana Women’s Premier League.

The initiative is expected to strengthen clubs through targeted commercial strategies while positioning the league as a more attractive product for investors.
