Plzen coach praises decisive moment as Prince Kwabena Adu strike seals win over Banik

Viktoria Plzen head coach Martin Hysky has described the decisive moment in his side’s 1-0 win over Banik Ostrava as crucial, after Ghana forward Prince Kwabena Adu scored the only goal of the game.

Adu struck in the 35th minute, running onto a pass during a quick transition before finishing calmly to give Plzen the lead.

The goal was his seventh in the league this season, with the 22-year-old also registering one assist in 25 appearances. The former Bechem United player continues to play a key role in Plzen’s attacking line.

Plzen are third in the Czech top-flight standings with 53 points after 30 matches, trailing leaders Slavia Praha by 18 points, while Banik remain 16th.

Speaking after the match, Hysky praised his team’s response following their 1-0 defeat to FK Pardubice in their previous outing.

“It was a very competitive match. The important moment was that we took the lead, that we scored the first goal,” he said.

“I would like to thank the players because we wanted to respond positively to our last result.”
