VIDEO: Black Stars begin training in Cardiff ahead of Wales friendly

The build-up to Ghana’s friendly against Wales is well underway, with the Black Stars opening camp in Cardiff and beginning training at Dragon Park under head coach Carlos Queiroz.

Thirteen players took part in Monday’s session, including key figures like Ernest Nuamah, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Jordan Ayew, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Elisha Owusu, Gideon Mensah, and Alidu Seidu, with the rest of the 28-man squad expected to arrive on Tuesday.

The team will train in Cardiff for a full week before facing Wales on Tuesday, June 2, then head to the United States for further World Cup preparation. Queiroz is using this friendly to assess players closely before submitting his final 26-man squad to FIFA on Monday, June 1, as required for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Ghana sits in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia. They open their World Cup campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto before facing England and Croatia in their remaining group matches.
