Pitso Mosimane says Queiroz will â??have funâ?? with Ghana job at World Cup

Pitso Mosimane has suggested that Carlos Queiroz will embrace the Ghana job as an opportunity to enjoy another FIFA World Cup campaign, as he offered fresh perspective on why he did not take charge of the Black Stars.

Mosimane revealed that while there was initial contact over the role, the nature of international football, often involving short-term commitments, did not align with his current outlook.

Instead, he pointed to a contrast in approach, indicating that Queiroz may view the assignment differently, particularly with the global stage in sight.

“Also, the other thing is, do I really want to go for two months for one game, three games, four games? Maybe I don’t want three games, four games, right?

"Because, for whatever reason. And maybe Carlos says, â€˜Why not? Let me go have fun. Let me go to the World Cup again.’ So it depends how you see it.”

Queiroz is set to lead Ghana at the upcoming FIFA World Cup, where Ghana will face England, Croatia and Panama in Group L.

The tournament presents a high-profile platform, one Mosimane implied can be approached either as a demanding short-term task or an opportunity to savour football’s biggest stage.
