Daniel Afriyie scores as Aarau crush Stade Nyonnais

Ghanaian forward Daniel Afriyie delivered a standout performance as Aarau powered to a 5â€“1 home victory over Stade Nyonnais in the Swiss Challenge League.

Afriyie opened the scoring in the 12th minute, calmly finishing to set the tone for a dominant first half in which Aarau raced into a 5â€“1 lead by the break.

Beyond his goal, Afriyie was a constant menace for the visitors’ defence. He had the most touches in the opposition box (7), took the joint-most shots (5), and completed the joint-most dribbles (4), underlining how central he was to everything Aarau created in the final third.

The 24-year-old has now put together an impressive 2025/26 league campaign, making 33 appearances, scoring 12 goals, and providing 7 assists in the Swiss Challenge League.

Aarau’s attacking fluency was too much for Stade Nyonnais, with further strikes from Mastil (own goal), Frokaj, JÃ¤ckle and Filet sealing an emphatic win.

The result keeps Aarau in strong form heading into their next Challenge League fixture away to FC Vaduz on Monday, May 11.
