Tributes are pouring in for Ted Turner following news of his passing, with many remembering him not only as a global media pioneer and business mogul, but also as a philanthropist whose humanitarian legacy touched lives across the world, including Ghana.

Turner, founder of CNN, transformed the global media landscape through the creation of the first 24-hour television news network, redefining international journalism and real-time news coverage.

Beyond media, he became widely recognised for his philanthropy, particularly his historic $1 billion pledge to support the United Nations, which led to the establishment of the United Nations Foundation.
