Leicester City have suffered a shocking relegation to League One, with Ghanaian internationals Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku among the players affected by the club’s dramatic collapse in the 2025/26 season.

The Foxes, who were already competing in the Championship following their relegation from the Premier League last season, endured a difficult campaign marked by inconsistency and missed opportunities. Their fate was sealed on Tuesday night after a disappointing 2-2 draw against Hull City at the King Power Stadium in Round 44.

Leicester had gone into the match knowing that only a win would keep their survival hopes alive. However, despite a spirited second-half comeback, they were unable to secure all three points, confirming their drop with two matches still remaining in the season.

The club will now play out the remainder of their fixtures against Millwall FC and Blackburn Rovers, although the results will have no impact on their relegation status.

For Ayew and Issahaku, the focus now shifts to the future. Both players are expected to reassess their positions at the club during the summer transfer window.

The pair will be determined to end the season strongly in hopes of earning places in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
