World Cup 2026: Group L standings as Ghana prepares for tough England clash

England have taken control of Group L at the end of the first round of games in Group L.

In a group that has England, Croatia, Ghana, and Panama, many have described it as the group of death.

England and Croatia locked horns in the first match of the group and produced an exciting goal-fest.

At the end of a six-goal thriller, the Three Lions emerged victorious with a 4-2 triumph to take all three points.

Then the Black Stars of Ghana also faced off with Panama in a tricky fixture. In a game of two halves, the Africans secured a late win to begin their campaign on a positive note.

With the first round of games out of the way, England lead the Group L table on three points, the same as Ghana but ahead on goal difference.

Panama come in third, with Croatia sitting at the bottom of the standings.

Ahead of the second round of games, Ghana will take on England in a tough contest on Tuesday, June 23, while Panama also lock horns with Croatia.

A positive result for Ghana could secure their place in the Round of 32.
