The Ashanti regional chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Andrew Augustus Nana Akwasi has told delegates of his party to retain him in the November regional election.

According to him, his leadership has seen the NDC loved in a region tagged as hostile.

"Today, people are so proud to be called NDC members in the Ashanti Region. Every single day I am receiving calls from several people wanting to join the NDC. This is not an accident; it's years of sacrifice by some of us," he told Media General's Evans-Nkum.

Nana Akwasi has also been telling delegates to retain him in the interest of sustaining the party's strength and building more momentum in the Ashanti Region.

"I know NDC delegates would not change me because I have given them results. My scorecard is unblemished. My message is simple: consistency is key to securing more electoral victories in the Ashanti Region.

"The opposition NPP sees me as their nightmare, and I will continue to hunt them down, but I would need that power from the delegates," he said.
