Community Guidelines

ONIM is built for real people doing real business. These guidelines keep the platform safe, fair, and useful for everyone — buyers, sellers, creators, and the wider community.

1. Respect and Kindness

Every person on ONIM deserves to be treated with dignity. Whether you are negotiating a price, chatting with a seller, commenting on a post, or joining a live stream, keep it respectful.

  • No harassment. Do not threaten, intimidate, bully, or stalk other users — in messages, posts, streams, or anywhere else on the platform.
  • No hate speech. Slurs, derogatory language, or attacks based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality are not tolerated.
  • No discrimination. Do not refuse to do business with someone based on their identity. ONIM is a platform for everyone.
  • Disagree respectfully. You can negotiate, decline offers, and voice opinions without insults or personal attacks.

2. Honest Listings

Trust is the foundation of any marketplace. Your listings should accurately represent what you are selling.

  • Use real photos. Post clear photos of the actual item you are selling, not stock images or pictures from other listings.
  • Describe accurately. Include the condition, any defects, and all relevant details. If it is used, say so. If something is missing or broken, mention it.
  • No counterfeit goods. Do not list fake, replica, or knockoff products as genuine branded items.
  • No misleading titles. Your listing title and category should match what you are actually selling.
  • Keep listings current. Remove or mark items as sold once they are no longer available.

3. Fair Pricing

Pricing is up to you, but a healthy marketplace depends on honest practices.

  • No bait-and-switch. Do not advertise one price and then demand a higher price when the buyer shows up.
  • No price gouging. Do not exploit emergencies, shortages, or high demand to charge unreasonable prices for essential goods.
  • Be transparent about fees. If delivery, packaging, or other costs apply, state them clearly in your listing.
  • Honour agreed prices. Once you and a buyer agree on a price through in-app messaging, follow through.

4. Safe Transactions

Your safety matters more than any deal. Take precautions when buying and selling.

  • Meet in public places. Choose busy, well-lit locations like malls, bank lobbies, or police stations for in-person exchanges.
  • Use in-app messaging. Keep all conversations on ONIM so there is a record. Avoid sharing your personal phone number or WhatsApp with strangers.
  • Never pay before inspecting. See and verify the item before you hand over money.
  • Bring someone with you. When meeting a buyer or seller in person, take a friend or family member along.
  • Trust your instincts. If something feels off, walk away. No deal is worth your safety.

5. No Spam

Spam wastes everyone's time and clutters the platform.

  • No duplicate listings. Do not post the same item multiple times. If your listing needs more visibility, use the boost feature instead.
  • No unsolicited messages. Do not send mass promotional messages to users who have not expressed interest.
  • No irrelevant content. Posts, event listings, and stream titles should be relevant and not used solely to promote unrelated products or services.
  • No link spam. Do not flood posts, messages, or streams with links to external sites.

6. Appropriate Content

ONIM is used by people of all ages and backgrounds. All content — posts, live streams, listings, event descriptions, and messages — must meet these standards.

  • No explicit or sexual content. This includes nudity, pornography, and sexually suggestive material in listings, posts, streams, or profile pictures.
  • No graphic violence. Do not post or stream violent, gory, or disturbing content.
  • No illegal items or services. Do not list drugs, weapons, stolen goods, or anything else that is illegal to buy or sell in your jurisdiction.
  • No dangerous products. Do not sell recalled items, expired consumables, or products that pose a safety risk without proper disclosure.
  • Keep live streams clean. Streamers are responsible for what happens on their streams, including content from guests and chat participants.

7. Real Accounts

Every account on ONIM should represent a real person or a real business.

  • No impersonation. Do not pretend to be another person, business, or organisation. This includes using someone else's photos, name, or branding.
  • No fake profiles. Do not create accounts with false information to manipulate the platform — fake reviews, artificial engagement, or shill bidding.
  • One account per person. Do not create multiple accounts to evade restrictions, inflate metrics, or manipulate listings.
  • Business accounts should be accurate. If you set up a store, the name, description, and contact info should truthfully represent your business.

8. Respect Privacy

Protect your own privacy and respect others' privacy.

  • Do not share others' personal information. Never post or share someone's phone number, address, ID documents, or other private details without their consent.
  • Do not screenshot and share private messages. Conversations on ONIM are between the participants. Sharing them publicly to shame or harass someone is not allowed.
  • No doxxing. Revealing someone's real identity or personal details to threaten or harass them will result in an immediate ban.
  • Respect location privacy. Do not share another user's location, workplace, or home address.

9. Report Violations

If you see something that breaks these guidelines, report it. Reports help us keep the platform safe for everyone.

  • Use the report button. Every listing, profile, post, and stream has a report option. Use it when you see a violation.
  • Provide details. When reporting, include as much context as possible so our moderation team can take appropriate action.
  • Do not abuse reports. Filing false or malicious reports against other users wastes moderation resources and may result in action against your account.
  • Block users if needed. If someone is bothering you, block them. This prevents them from messaging you or seeing your content.

For urgent safety concerns, visit our Safety Tips page or contact local authorities.

10. What Happens When Rules Are Broken

We enforce these guidelines to protect the community. Consequences depend on the severity and frequency of the violation.

  • Warning. For first-time or minor violations, we may issue a warning and ask you to correct the issue.
  • Content removal. Listings, posts, or streams that violate these guidelines will be removed without notice.
  • Temporary suspension. Repeated or serious violations may result in your account being temporarily suspended.
  • Permanent ban. Severe violations — including fraud, threats, illegal activity, or persistent abuse — will result in a permanent ban from the platform.
  • Legal action. In cases involving illegal activity, we may report the matter to law enforcement authorities.

We reserve the right to take any action we deem necessary to protect the safety and integrity of the ONIM community. Decisions about enforcement are made at our discretion and are final.

Building a Better Community

These guidelines exist because ONIM is only as good as the people who use it. By treating others fairly, listing honestly, and looking out for each other, we all benefit from a stronger, more trusted platform.
