Unemployed graduates with disabilities say they will camp at Jubilee House for three days unless the government gives their members public-sector jobs within two weeks.

"We will not vacate the seat of government, nor will we be pacified by emergency meetings or verbal pledges," the statement warned. "We will remain at the gates of Jubilee House until every single graduate on our list receives verifiable employment letters."

According to the coalition, members first demonstrated in March 2026 and suspended that protest after government officials promised to facilitate their recruitment. After those assurances stalled, the group staged a second protest and petitioned the presidency in August, submitting a compiled list of qualified graduates that officials said had been forwarded to President John Dramani Mahama.

"Every single pledge made to this coalition over the past eight months has proven to be totally futile," Agyare stated. "We will no longer tolerate being used for photo opportunities or pacified by meaningless political rhetoric while qualified citizens with disabilities languish in enforced poverty and unemployment."

The graduates noted that they had navigated lecture halls without accessible infrastructure and climbed staircases without ramps to earn university degrees and diplomas. "We do not want sympathy or charity. We demand opportunity, fairness, and justice," the statement added.

The coalition appealed to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II; the Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin; the Dormaahene, Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II; the National House of Chiefs; the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu; the Christian Council of Ghana; the Ghana Catholic Bishops' Conference; the National Peace Council; the Council of State; and former Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to intervene.

While the presidency had not responded immediately to Sunday's ultimatum, Vice-President Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang reaffirmed on November 2 that the government is rolling out a 5 per cent employment quota for persons with disabilities alongside free tertiary education.
